Infant Programs
At Briarwood Children’s House, we offer programs for children ages 6 weeks to 6 years. Each child has the opportunity to learn at his own pace and on his own terms. Children at Briarwood Children’s House thrive and dream and explore…as every child should.
Enrichment One
Our “Nido” or nest for 8 babies ages 6 weeks to 12 months
A natural environment for a baby is one that provides a soothing and calm atmosphere for rest, a safe place for exploration, and interesting activities for the development of physical abilities. Our warm and nurturing Infant community staff follow each infant’s own rhythm for sleeping, eating, and active times. Each teacher interacts with each child through conversation and active play staying mindful of critical receptive moments. As each child progresses from sitting up to crawling to walking, from bottles to finger foods to using utensils, our loving and patient teachers are there to guide, encourage and assist each child along their journey to personal independence.
At approximately 12 months, children will begin the transition into either:
- Enrichment Two - Waddler Program
- Montessori One - Toddler Program
Enrichment Two: Waddler Classroom
A group of (4) 12–18 months old children who need a little extra nesting & comforting before transition to Montessori One. These children need a little more time for physical development to become steady on their feet before cruising with the fast movers in Mont. 1. This classroom setting helps the children make the necessary transitions from high chair to table eating, crib to mat sleeping and floor to chair sitting. From our Waddlers classroom children transition to our Montessori One Toddler program.
